Last Updated: 5th January, 2017. The entire human body is covered by a layer of skin to prevent it from being affected by harmful radiations, ultraviolet rays, a number of toxins and bacteria present in the air. It connects us to our surroundings by enabling us to sense things; it prevents flow of excessive fluid from our body since it is compact and also protects us from extreme temperatures.

The skin consists of two layers namely, epidermis and dermis. All humans have different types of skin and must be treated accordingly. The oil glands produce oil that is formed in between skin cells. These glands are attached to hair follicles that secrete oil through the follicles. The amount of oil secretion depends on the size of the hair follicle.
